5. If possible allow 24 hours to cure before exposing to moisture.

6. If the wood was not dry before Top Gloss was applied or the surface is wetted before fully cured, Top Gloss will "blanch" - ie turn milky -Do not Despair since unlike "blooming" in solvent based varnishes, Top Goss will dry clear when conditions permit.

7. In hot conditions it may be beneficial to let down Top Gloss with water - about 10% by volume, to slow down the drying.

8. Clean wet brushes, spills etc with water-once dry - with petrol or cellulose thinners once dry.

Health & Safety

Top Goss is non-toxic, non-flamable or volitile - but please keep it away from unsupervised children. Do not allow to pollute ponds or waterways. Unlikely to irritate skin. If sensitive use a barrier cream or rubber gloves. Wash hands with soap and water after use. Keep sealed and frost free. Top Gloss is safe for air transport.

1. It is important to note that Top Gloss behaves like a high quality varnish. Unlike Woodsealer, which may be applied in almost any conditions, Top Gloss should be used on clean dry wood. It should be applied in warm air.

2. For exterior use it is strongly recommended that wood is first treated with one of the Burgess Marine Woodsealers.

3. Top Gloss dries very quickly. Air bubbles may not have time to escape and could be trapped. To avoid this:-

a. Use a good quality, soft, dense, brush. Or a "dolly" made up with lint free cloth.

b. Apply in thin coats with the minimum of brushwork.

c. Top Gloss can be overcoated in 30 minutes when applied in good drying conditions (low humidity, above 10 degrees C. and well ventilated).

4. If you rub down with wet and dry between coats (not always necessary) please ensure surface is thoroughly dry before applying next coat.
